Providing a Brighter Future
for Africa’s Children

As a nonprofit and charitable organization, we partner with local African charities and NGOs to provide clean water, healthcare, food, education, orphan care, and more. Every project we support helps African children and families build a healthier, more self-sufficient future.

WATER IS LIFE.

We’ve worked with partners to provide clean water across Africa for many years. Whether it’s for a school, clinic, or farm, these life-changing water projects improve health, reduce hardship, and offer hope for a better future. Thanks to our generous supporters, our work continues in 2025 and beyond.

A desk may seem small, but its impact is enormous.

Without proper seating:

•Children sit on cold floors or bare ground, straining their backs and necks.
•Overcrowding forces five or more children to share one desk, making it nearly impossible to write or concentrate.
•When learning is this uncomfortable, children miss school more often and fall behind in reading and math.

We know that a sturdy, child-sized desk does more than hold books—it gives children space to learn and focus.

🧡 Discover how we and the Amhara Development Association- ADA Head office are helping children with the simple gift of a desk: https://africanrelief.org/a-seat-for-every-child-building-literacy-and-hope-in-africa/

📚 For children in Africa, a simple desk can change everything.

Many students spend their school day sitting on the floor or sharing overcrowded desks. Writing, concentrating, and keeping up with lessons becomes a daily struggle—and too often, children fall behind.

That’s why Bread and Water for Africa® is working to bring 500 desks to classrooms in Ethiopia. With a desk of their own, children can focus, learn, and feel supported in their education.

“My ambition is to earn a PhD in nutrition and help malnourished children.”

These are the words of Cyril Djerambete, a young man who once wondered if he would ever finish secondary school. Today he is preparing his thesis defense in nutrition, turning hardship into knowledge that can feed the next generation.

Through the Chad School Support Program, supported by Bread and Water for Africa® and implemented locally by Hope International Foundation, Cyril received the scholarships and guidance he needed to continue his studies.

Change like this doesn’t happen alone. Every donation opens doors and supports students like Cyril.

When a young girl sits in a classroom, entire communities shift: child marriage drops, incomes rise, and opportunity begins to multiply.

Yet in Chad, 77 % of young women aged 15–24 cannot read or write. That means millions step into adulthood unable to sign their name, write a letter or share their own stories.

How do we change this?

By making sure school fees, uniforms, and exam costs never stand between a girl and her education; by standing with local teachers who refuse to give up; by insisting every daughter has the right to learn.

🧡 Give a girl the chance to learn today.

Laure Pitimbaye was seventeen when everything changed. Her mother died suddenly, and her father’s illness meant there was no income, no way to cover school fees. For nearly a year she stayed home in N’Djamen, Chad.

Hope International Foundation, with support from Bread and Water for Africa®, provided a scholarship for Laure that covered tuition, exams, a uniform and school supplies—the simple things standing between her and the classroom.

Today Laure is preparing to become a nurse. “By God’s grace, I am almost at the end of my training as a state-qualified nurse at the Health School at the Université le Bon Berger in N’Djamena.”
